Virginia (Gigi) Alcalde Davis
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and Registered Yoga Teacher with a passion for helping adolescents and adults navigate the intersection of mental and physical health.
My path into this work has been shaped by both professional training and personal experience. Through navigating my own physical and mental health challenges, I found myself searching for a more integrated understanding of healing—one that recognized the interconnectedness of our physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual well-being, and the many factors that shape our overall health. That journey continues to shape how I practice today.
How I Work
I believe symptoms, whether emotional or physical, carry meaningful information rather than represent personal failure or something to fix or eliminate right away without first understanding what they're communicating. I approach every person I work with and their life story with curiosity, compassion, and depth.
My hope is to create a space where you feel safe enough to better understand yourself and reconnect with your body while finding relief from symptoms and developing practical tools and strategies to move through life with greater balance, resilience, and clarity.
My Experience
Throughout my career, I have worked in nutrition education in the school system, taught yoga and mindfulness-based practices in private and public settings and provided clinical nutrition and mental health therapy across outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization levels of care. These experiences have given me the opportunity to support people with a wide range of mental health, nutritional, and medical concerns.
